D5 Render 2.12

Any revelations about the 2.12 release?
The last update was in July.
D5 has been on track to release every three months.
It’s now November.

It would be great for version 2.12… to re-enable Path Tracing (RTPT) for AMD graphics cards

Their releases are falling further and further behind the competition. Even their YouTube channel isn’t as active as it used to be.

And Technical Support

I hope this hides some good surprises for 2026…

As a new user to D5 Render, even 3 month intervals is massively more productive than some of the other software we have been using for years.

I’ve always been of the mind that there’s no point rushing a release if it’s not 100% perfect so it’s always best to be patient!

If you are tracking what’s on the #In-Progress board right now you’ll realize these aren’t tasks that can be implemented easily and work exactly the way we users want. It takes time, and I’m sure they’ll deliver those features in the best way possible. I don’t mind a delay on the cadence of updates if it’s justified. Let them cook.

Hello everyone,

Perhaps the D5-Team will give us a nice Christmas or end-of-year surprise with version 2.12!
Or whatever it will be called.

That would be nice.

Bye
Andreas

According to some sources, I here some great things are coming.

These are the new features we should expect in the next update. This information comes from the YouTube channel “Archi Tech,” where a person from D5 was present and showed the image above.

Hello everyone,

Will visualization software such as D5 Render continue to exist in the future despite AI?
I hope so.

However, I fear that orders for visualizations will decline because of AI.

Perhaps there will also be a counter-movement.

I don’t have much respect for work created by AI.
A visualization created by humans impresses me more.

Let’s see what the future brings.
It remains exciting.

Always stay optimistic.

Bye
Andreas

As long as there is demand for final renders with specific materials and precise construction details, humans will keep doing the rendering. AI is very flashy and impressive when it comes to “concepts”, but not when it has to deal with the material reality of architecture and clients: the real materials, furniture and details.
AI is and there will be a tool we must embrace to keep improving and be better than AI alone.

AI Design is only conceptual,
For visualization of the real project
It has to be based on the actual design module.

I think D5 has already made a good start with the integration of AI.

Now it’s time to eliminate errors.

  • So far, the AI still changes the architecture and the placed 3D objects, which should not happen.
  • The selected planting should be visually improved, not completely replaced.
  • The speed should be increased.
  • The colors on buildings are currently being changed too much.

For me, these are the most important improvements I would like to see in terms of AI.

Nano Banana and Pro in my experience has eliminated about 99% of that

Then it should also be ready soon in D5.
