D5 doesn't recognize 3ds max particles? And editing paths?

I’ve tried a number of ways to get D5 to recognize 3ds max particles but it has been to no avail. I import them with the vehicle they are attached to and …nothing. If there is a way, i would love to know the steps.
And editing a D5 path? Brutal. I set up a path with multiple points, tilt it then try to modify some of the points but as soon as i touch them, they shoot off to parts unknown, or drop to nearest ground or…anywhere but i want them. It would be nice if one could simply go through the points, one by one, and modify them based on the coordinate spinners. But for the point coordinates to appear, one has to touch them first…at which point they fly away to wherever.

Unfortunately, 3dsmax particles are not supported for now.

As for the paths issue, can you show us a screenshot or perhaps a video recording?

Clov, thanks for responding. The problem with editing paths is 3d snaps. I researched turning them off and on, like one is able to do in Max, but everything i found is out of date and no longer applicable. I guess the question is, “Is it currently possible to turn 3d snaps off and then back on?”
