recently I’m making car edits using d5, and d5 has some cool stuff that makes it unique, like the gravity, it’s way better to do it in d5 rather than the editing software. I’ve seen people use explosion or thunderbolt effects using their editing software as well, but honestly, being able to do it in d5 makes it much more immersive. it would be cool to have them. it’s nice for telling stories.
if you use a basic D5 model plane and use the transparent video material you could load in videos of lightning and explosions. I have used it to make steam and frost effects so far. As long as there is a black background, using the luma matte mode in that transparent video texture, the background will disappear and you can get the video effect in D5. This would allow you to have movable effects in D5 and you can just rotate that plane to face your camera. Envato elements and pexels.com are good websites where you can find special effects like that
thanks, I will try that. it would be good workaround! but really, when they do it’ it’s something else. like these planar fog they added recently.
