Thuja spherical Danica
Shape: The world’s most popular globular thuja. It was grown from seeds in 1948 by Jensen A.R. Denmark. The extraordinary popularity is due to the dense regular crown and the correct in-line vertical arrangement of needles. Evergreen dwarf shrub with a round, dense, spherical crown. At the age of 10 years reaches 0.4 m in diameter. In comparison with most spherical thuja, it wins with the variegated color of the needles throughout the year.
Growth rate / Size: reaches a height of 0.6-0.8m, crown diameter 1m. Annual growth in height 5cm, width 3-4cm.
Phytoncidity: All forms of western arborvitae are characterized by the highest phytoncidity - the ability of plants to secrete biologically active volatile substances in small doses - phytoncides that kill or inhibit the growth and development of bacteria, microscopic fungi, small insects and protozoa. They increase the immunity of the plant and the person who regularly inhales the air purified by phytoncides. In many European countries, it is legally prescribed to plant gardens in western kindergartens, schools, colleges, and medical institutions.
Needle shape: Scaly, flat, parallel and vertical.
Color of needles: Dark green bright brilliant. In winter, green below, and the upper part of the plant, which is above the snow cover, turns brown (green-brown)
