I’m a new to D5, having used VRay and Enscape before in SU. I like it very much in general.
I am a garden/landscape designer and use quite a lot of png images of plants as faceme components alongside 3D models of plants, for greater plant accuracy.
It seems that D5 locks in the orientation of the faceme components when the link from Sketchup is first established. I was hoping it might support the faceme property within D5, but it doesn’t even update the orientation when switching between imported scenes, or manually syncing.
Is there any chance more faceme support might be on a road map somewhere?
It already does.
Use 2d people asset and switch the image link to your own.
Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like it’s more of a workaround rather than supporting a Sketchup feature. I have a library of thousands of plants built up over years in skp format so it would be starting from scratch building that up again in D5. Not sure I can face that!
Given that D5 already has assets with the required behaviour, maybe it’s not that difficult to add support for the Sketchup equivalent in future… if there was enough interest in the feature.
