Basic Quarter Sawn Wood types

Having more quarter sawn or rift sawn wood types would be great. While D5 provided plenty of woods to choose from, they have so much variation in them that they are not suitable for typical high end interiors where wood types that are uniform in color and grain tend to be desired. These wood types from D5 represent the palette one might chose for designing a high end kitchen – light, grey, warm, dark and very dark:

This is a similar selection from a texture providing company:

The much more even wood grains look better within interior renderings.

If D5 can provide more uniform woods, that would be great. Otherwise I can purchase them for use in my interiors from other companies. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi Jeffrey.
How do you do?

Have a look at this italian company. They produce amazing products!
If you download the textures you can work them in B2M likish softwares.

Thank you for reminding me of Cleaf. I actually used that product when I renovated my kitchen. However, when I went to the website, I saw the texture, which I could copy but I’d have to make the various maps and I don’t think the texture is optimized to be repeated.

My idea was that D5 Render would include basic quarter sawn/rift sawn woods that architects and interior designers like to use. I often joke that we like wood to look like wood but not too much! Btw the textures in the second image are from Poliigon.

Hi Jeffrey

I have found some good stuff.
Welcome to your Fun Texture site (it’s free also for commercial use)
