:white_check_mark: Evaluation Criteria

We strongly encourage students to go beyond standard renderings by using D5 to produce a diverse set of drawings that together tell a complete design story. And we’ve broken down our judging criteria into three key categories:

:one: Diversity of Drawing Types & Completeness of Expression (30%)

  • Use of diagrams, floor plans, sections, elevations, axonometric views, exploded views, and more
  • Integration of multiple drawing types into a complete and coherent design narrative
  • Break away from the conventional notion that D5 is only for renderings — showcase how it can support comprehensive architectural communication

:two: Visual Quality & Presentation Aesthetics (40%)

  • Effective composition and layout with a sense of balance and hierarchy
  • Sophisticated use of lighting, materials, colors, and shadows
  • Consistent visual style across all views
  • Technically refined and visually polished presentation

:three: Innovation & Creative Use of Tools (30%)

  • Creative use of D5 tools such as lighting effects, camera paths, animations, or built-in AI features
  • Presentation of original spatial concepts or storytelling formats
  • Integration of motion, non-traditional media, or other expressive methods
  • A distinct and personal approach that pushes the boundaries of conventional design communication

Ready to showcase your design story? Let your visuals speak. Let D5 amplify your vision.
