Accidentally replacing import .3dm with Rhino livesync

Hello, I just found out that if I add materials to an imported model and accidentally press sync from Rhino, it will replace my imported model, and I will lose all assigned materials. Additionally, the “reload” function will be greyed out.

There is no warning popping up.

I guess this is something I just have to remember for now, but it’s quite frustrating to lose all the materials without the possibility to “redo”

Why I currently use the import model instead of the livesync function?
Well, sometimes I am using my time in D5 while one of my colleagues is working on the 3D models. It’s just a bit easier to press “Reload” when they have made a change in the model instead of opening the model in Rhino and pressing sync, especially if there are 10x different models loaded into a D5 project.

It would be nice to get a popup, just like when you resync a model, or even better, the possibility to undo/redo.

PS. Undo for brush records would also be appreciated!

Hi mate, Models imported through converters cannot reload directly in D5, because they are two different data sync methods. Mix-using them will cause problems. Maybe we should have a warning popping up like you said.

Thanks for the advice! we will improve that.
