Hi Enrico,
Great job ! This work shows your skills. Amazing video.
If I may make a suggestion. When you use the sound of footsteps, if the underground changes, the sound of the footsteps are also different. Like stone pavement sounds different then a wooden deck, or parquet. Just an idea for your next project. Love it.
hi @fmarchitecten thank you so much for your kind words, you’re very thoughtful. I truly appreciate advice from someone like you — it’s clear that you have a great eye for detail. Your observation is absolutely spot on, and I’m grateful you took the time to share it with me. I’ll definitely keep it in mind moving forward. Wishing you all the best.
I wish you all the best.
Most of the things I posted in this forum are all done in my own time. Almost nothing is paid work. So in the very near future I will be forced to stop my activity as a freelancer and I will have to look for a job. I will miss working in D5 render.
I’m really sorry to hear what you’re going through. These kinds of jobs take real effort, study, and constant learning, and they definitely deserve more recognition and better pay. Time is the most valuable thing we give, and honestly, even here in Italy, a lot of people don’t seem to get that—I can tell you from experience. I really hope you find a way forward without having to give it all up.
Excellent work, very impressive. Did you use automatic exposing for the transition between the rooms? But the 3D characters, you have to put them very very far away
Hi @julienfischel, thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it.
As for the exposure, I prefer to work manually to have more control, especially since I’ve noticed that automatic exposure often tends to blow out the highlights and overexpose certain areas.
So I tried to find a good balance between the interior and exterior shots by using both HDRI and some artificial lighting. I also managed a couple of transitions during editing, particularly the entrance into the house and the exit to the balcony.
Regarding the characters, I agree — since I couldn’t rely on AI for animation, they do end up looking a bit unnatural.
To be honest, I personally prefer the first part of the video, with subtle camera movements and no characters.
However, in this case, I wanted to include the second part of the virtual tour as well, to make the experience more immersive.
Thanks again, and I wish you all the best!
I just rewatched the video, with sound, and it’s really good. The character in the office below is pretty good. With patience and a subscription, you can generate the characters in the video with AI. I’ve seen some pretty good tests. B
Thanks a lot for your kind words! Can you tell me about how you achieved that smooth walking POV shot in your project? Is the camera path directly imported from Cinema 4D?
Hi @Udyn, all camera movements were created directly in D5. In the second part, I added a subtle motion in post-production using the editing software to simulate a slightly less stabilized movement, aiming to give the walk a more natural and synchronized feel.
