A time limit of approx. 20 minutes for editing with the same sketchup-scene.
-both images are 4K, no photoshop
-D5 Render Version 1.8.1.0283
Render time 1: 47.94
-Enscape version 3.1.0-preview5 + 44536
Render time 0: 10.94
-Sketchup 2021
My thoughts:
1: Mildly put, your D5 sample is not an indicator of the render quality you can get from D5.
2: With a really good RTX card you could easily render a photorealistic version of your test in 3-4 minutes.
Thank you guys for suggestions. It was just a test.
I tried with the same number of lights and positions, material, the same setting to see the different quality between Enscape and D5 render. Of course, I was always tempted to do more for d5 Render. The test idea would then not be fair. This shows me which creative minds it takes to make such fantastic pictures and videos as in the gallery.
A program alone can only support it.
D5 render is incredibly good. We love it. This 50 sec. slower rendering for the test is not a problem for us.
Thank you D5 render team
Try to open a very crowded scene in both softwares. D5 can handle high poly smoothly but Enscape will not even open it. Thats the main reason why I prefer D5. If you are doing this as a hobby then Enscape is amazing. Fast and high quality but If this is your profession then Enscape is not the best option.
The advantages of D5render real-time ray-traced GI for interior animations and the simpler user interface are the main factors for me. There maybe other programs for exterior scenes, where real GI is not even necessary. But they look pretty bad for interiors unless we start wasting time placing decals for shadows, faking indirect light bounces, etc. So, it is D5 definitely for me.
